It’s January so it’s the start of the early show season and that means a trip over the M62 to Event City at Trafford Park, Stratford, Manchester for the Caravan and Motorhome Show.

The show was opened on the Caravan and Motorhome Club stand by star of The Great British Bake Off, Karen Wright who made a special cake in the shape of a vintage caravan, complete with pitch marker, barbecue and gas bottle. Karen and her husband John are also keen caravanners.

Karen also gave an individual master class into cupcake decorating and also gave a cookery demonstration on the main food and travel stage.

The Manchester show is most definitely a dealer show with all the major North West dealers having stands showing the models they sell, including their dealer specials.

Whilst most of the caravans on display had been on show at the NEC last October however Campbells Caravans on their stand had some 2020 models from the recently formed Lunar Automotive.

Lunar Automotive have announced that they are to start production shortly after moving production from Leyland to Preston.

Here are a selection of the caravans on show in Manchester.

Next year the Caravan and Motorhome Show will be held in a new location as Event City is moving to a different part of Trafford Park. The new exhibition space is nearer to the M60 and it will be interesting to see what the new show is like
